I am not sure whether or not the program described would offend
non-Zionists. It wouldn't offend secular Zionists who think a visit to
Israel is all about visiting historical sites. And it certainly would be
as offensive to a religious Zionist as would be a Hanukka celebration
that visits the sites of various important Macabian battle sites but
forgets to say Hallel. Better a regular school day than one that teaches
students in a yeshivah that the secular zionist view of Israel is what we
are celebrating. A yeshivah should stand for something and not be
ashamed to say what it is.
