WORK SCHEDULE
This position will be 50-75% time in the 2026-2027 school year, but may increase in future years. The schedule can be flexible, based on the needs of the school and the teacher.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Elementary Music Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate music instruction to students in grades 1–4. The teacher fosters a joyful learning environment that builds musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for music while supporting students’ social-emotional growth and confidence.

The duties of the Music Teacher include:

Teaching music theory with an emphasis on singing, rhythm, and instrumental performance.
Developing robust weekly lesson plans in order to implement the Elementary Music Curriculum.
Collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists to infuse music into the Elementary Division.
Coordinating Divisional performances and facilitating rehearsals.
Choral instruction for select students on a weekly basis.
Band conductor for beginning band and Middle School advanced band.
Participating in Arts Department meetings and school-wide arts programming.
Possible additional role providing administrative support for after school music lesson program.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s Degree in Music Education or a degree in a related field.
Ability to play piano and/or teach band instruments.
Familiarity with the Jewish music canon and holiday-specific songs is preferred.
Has experience and enjoys working with Elementary students.

SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range: $30,000-$45,000 (50-70% of a $60,000-90,000 full-time salary); Salary offers are based on our salary scale steps, which are based on years of experience and are non-negotiable due to pay equity practices. *Base faculty salaries do not reflect additional compensation based on degree level and stipends.
