(Esther and Mordi)

We don’t talk about Haman, no, no, no!

We don’t talk about Haman… but

It was my wedding day

It was her wedding day

We were getting ready, and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky

No clouds allowed in the sky

Haman walks in with a mischievous grin-

Boooo-ooo!!

You telling this story, or am I?

I’m sorry, Esther, go on

Haman says, “let’s kill all the Jews”

Why did he tell us?

In doing so, we get the blues

Esther, go save us

He married me without a clue

What a joyous day… but anyway

We don’t talk about Haman, no, no, no!

We don’t talk about Haman!

(Townsfolk)

Hey! Grew to live in fear of Haman’s evil plots and cunning

I could always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling

I associate him with the sound of cackling, ha-ha-ha

It’s a heavy lift, with her marriage so troubling

Always left her uncle and the family wondering

We’re grappling with hatred that we cannot understand

Do you understand?

(Townsfolk)

A seven-foot frame

A three-corner hat

When he calls your name

It all fades to black

Yeah, he sees your dreams

And feasts on your screams (hey!)

We don’t talk about Haman, no, no, no! (We don’t talk about Haman, no, no, no!)

We don’t talk about Haman (we don’t talk about Haman!)

(Townsfolk)

He told me he’d be acclaimed

The next day: a party! (No, no!)

He told me we’d feel the pain!

And all thanks to Mordi (oh, no!)

He said that all my pride would disappear, I’d be hanging instead (no, no! Hey!)

But his fate was sealed when the lots he threw were read!

(Esther)

He told me that the life of my dreams would be ended, and I’d lose my crown

He told me that my husband would hate me, he’d send me back into town

(Esther’s servant)

Oy, Mordechai is on his way

(Esther)

He told me that the man of my dreams would hate me

Because I’m a Jew

(Everyone)

It’s like I hear him now

Hey Uncle, I want not a sound out of you (it’s like I can hear him now)

I can hear him now

Um, Haman…

Yeah, about that Haman…

I really need to avoid that Haman…

Gimmie the truth and the whole truth, Haman

(Esther, your husband’s here)

Time to confess!

A seven-foot frame (it was my wedding day, it was her wedding day)

A three-corner hat (we were getting ready)

When he calls your name (and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky)

It all fades to black (no clouds allowed in the sky!)

Yeah, he sees your dreams (Haman walks in with a mischievous grin-)

And feasts on your screams (Booo-ooo!)

You telling this story, or am I?

I’m sorry, Esther, go on (Oy, Mordechai is on his way)

Haman says, “lets kill all the Jews” (a seven-foot frame, a three-corner hat)

In doing so, we gets the blues

He married me without a clue
