Lookstein Virtual Jewish Academy of Bar-Ilan University partner school contract: The agreement outlines the standard terms and conditions associated with participating in a Lookstein Virtual online course, or courses, and assures that all parties are aware of their roles. Specific course requirements and arrangements can be found on your school’s invoice. This agreement must be signed by the head of school, principal, or administrator who has the authority for executing such agreements on behalf of the school.

Courses and Services. Lookstein Virtual Jewish Academy of Bar-Ilan University agrees to:
Supply, facilitate, and coordinate the implementation of the course(s) as outlined below [and in the course descriptions found in your school’s invoice].
Provide an online instructor and course access for a period of 4 months (for semester long courses) from the designated start date.
Communicate regularly by email and by telephone with the school.
Provide administrative access to the course and student work.
Provide Instructor led live check-in's up to 30 minutes not more than 6 per course (for semester long courses). Cancellation of live check-ins must be given in writing to the teacher at least 24 hours before the scheduled time in order to be rescheduled.

Partner School Responsibilities.
In-School hours. The students will be given a minimum amount of school time to complete coursework as outlined in your school’s invoice. Any extra work will be completed as homework, unless otherwise agreed upon with the Admissions Department.
Technology support. The student will have access to necessary technological equipment (i.e. computer/laptop and headset w/ mic) during those periods. Technical assistance (if needed) will be offered from an on-site technical support person. The School will participate in a live test of web conferencing software before the first live session to reduce technical issues during the semester.
Student evaluation. Students will participate in course evaluation after course completion.
School liaison. The School will appoint a teacher/administrator as course liaison to oversee student participation and act as a liaison to Lookstein Virtual. This role is critical to the success of the students and is suited to teachers with some flexibility in their schedules. The liaison will maintain regular contact with the students participating in the course. They will encourage and support the students and contact Lookstein Virtual with any specific challenges that may arise during the semester. The liaison will be responsible for overseeing the logistics and implementation of the Lookstein Virtual course. They will make certain that the students are able to log in to the LMS, to access and submit their assignments, and to correspond with the course instructor in Israel as necessary. The liaison will also ensure that each live session is setup properly and with the necessary equipment. The liaison will maintain regular contact with Lookstein Virtual staff, apprise Lookstein Virtual staff of any student absences and/or any academic, technical, or social concerns.

3. Course Participation and Drop Policy.
Lookstein Virtual sets high expectations for the success of its students. We are committed to meeting the needs of our students and will work tirelessly to facilitate student success. To maintain instructional momentum, students are required to submit assignments in their course on a weekly basis and to maintain regular contact with their instructors.
In the event that a student has not logged into the course and/or submitted assignments for the course over a period of 14 days and has not made prior arrangements with his/her instructor, the Lookstein Virtual Director of Instruction will reach out to the school administrative team in order to effectively communicate to the student the urgency of recommitting to the course.
When attempts to contact the school are successful, the Lookstein Virtual Director of Instruction will work with students and school representatives to design a plan for success in the course. The plan will include work and contact commitments from the student. This process ensures that everyone involved with the student’s education acknowledges that consistent work and continuous communication with his/her course instructor are what will lead the student to success.
Failure to respond to the Director of Instruction's attempts to contact the student/school liaison, or failure to adhere to the Success Plan created by the student and school representatives, may result in administrative removal from the course with an F grade.
Many Lookstein Virtual courses are based on a collaborative cohort-based model. The success of this model is based upon mutual student respect and decorum in the virtual classroom space. Students who are found to be communicating inappropriately either through written or oral communications to their fellow classmates or teachers will be informed in writing (with a cc to the course liaison) by the course instructor of this infraction. Students who receive 2 or more written notices of such infractions by the course instructor may be subject to administrative removal from the course with an F grade.
Students who are subject to administrative removal from a course will not receive a tuition refund.
4. Publicity. Lookstein Virtual/Bar-Ilan University reserves the right to list you as a client, and showcase student work (without student name) for our marketing efforts including on our website and social media, and in speaking engagements, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

5. Billing and Refunds. The school agrees to remit payment prior to the start of the course, or on agreed upon payment schedule. If payment is not received prior to start of the course, Lookstein Virtual/Bar-Ilan University reserves the right to pause or cancel the course until payment is received. Schools who officially withdraw students from their courses through written notification to Lookstein Virtual/Bar-Ilan University may receive a refund of tuition according to the following schedule:
A full tuition refund will be granted 30 days prior to the course start date.
90% tuition refund will be granted 10 days prior to the course start date.
75% tuition refund will be granted if the withdrawal from the course occurs during the first week of the course.
50% tuition refund will be granted if the withdrawal from the course occurs during the second week of the course.
Tuition refunds are not granted for withdrawals after the first two weeks of the course.
