Creating Memory: Using the Arts to Memorialize the Holocaust

Creating Memory is an arts-based program (available for free from The Lookstein Center and based on the successful Hebrew program created by Martin Herskovitz) intended to help young people encounter the Holocaust in a personal, emotional way. In this session, participants will be exposed to images, poetry, and texts that express universally relatable themes, providing them with a basis for affective connection to the Holocaust.

Participants will engage with the material and learn how to bring these techniques back to their classrooms for use in Holocaust education and beyond. This session is geared towards middle and high school educators.
