WORK SCHEDULE
Working hours are generally 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday for reduced-time and 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, Wednesday, Friday for part-time; occasional hours may be required in the evenings. Teachers are expected to attend faculty meetings on Thursdays from 3:45 PM until 5:00 PM.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Early Childhood Associate Teachers and Floater Teachers are responsible for working with the Head Teacher in overseeing the experiences of students in their classroom. While there are broad guidelines for curriculum, given the ages and developmental levels of the students, teachers are given significant latitude to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of their particular students.
The duties of an Associate Classroom teacher/Floater Teacher include:
Supporting the Head Teacher in managing all aspects of classroom life, including curriculum planning, group times, weekly newsletters, report writing and parent conferences.
Interacting with children in all areas of the classroom, including the rug area, block area, pretend, and art projects.
Supervising and interacting with students during outdoor and indoor gross motor play times.
Doing whatever is necessary to help students feel safe and supported in the school environment, including accompanying children to the bathroom, changing diapers if necessary, and comforting and holding upset children,
Arriving on time to set up the classroom and staying after the school day to clean the classroom and work on planning for the next day.
Working with the rest of the grade level team to share ideas and resources to promote consistency within the program.
Participating in all aspects of school life, including attending team and staff meetings and community events.

Has experience and enjoys working with early childhood-aged children

Shows an appreciation for the craft of teaching
Has excellent interpersonal skills
Kind and possesses a healthy sense of humor
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to take initiative and follow through on projects
Possesses good judgment
Advanced degree or equivalent experience
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range: $32,000-$35,000 (prorated for part-time); Salary offers are based on our salary scale steps, which are based on years of experience and are non-negotiable due to pay equity practices.
