Job description:
Yeshiva Har Torah is seeking an exceptional Kindergarten Head Teacher to join our Early Childhood team for the upcoming school year. This position is ideal for a warm, skilled educator who understands early childhood development and is passionate about nurturing young learners academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
Candidates must be deeply knowledgeable in Orthodox Jewish practice, in order to teach the Hebrew alphabet, the weekly parsha, and chagim. .
Position Overview
The Kindergarten Head Teacher is responsible for leading a classroom that integrates General Studies and Judaic Studies within a developmentally appropriate, joyful, and structured learning environment. The teacher will work collaboratively with co-teachers, specialists, and administrators to support the growth of each child.
Responsibilities
Teach both General Studies and Judaic Studies to a Kindergarten class
Create a caring, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment
Design and implement age-appropriate lessons aligned with curricular goals
Foster foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills
Cultivate a love of Torah, mitzvot, and Jewish identity in young children
Communicate regularly and thoughtfully with parents
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development
Qualifications
Experience teaching Kindergarten or Early Childhood (preferred)
Ability to teach both General Studies and Judaic Studies (required)
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Warmth, patience, and a deep understanding of child development
Commitment to professional growth and collaboration
Hebrew skills and familiarity with early childhood Judaic curriculum preferred
