Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking a Middle School cross country head coach for the 2026-27 school year.
The coach will be responsible for planning practices, fostering a positive, inclusive, motivating environment, and creating an atmosphere that reflects the values and goals of the Heschel Athletics Department. Additionally, the coach will be responsible for organizing the team in such a way that maximizes the educational and athletic potential of all student-athletes and allows students to develop an appreciation of fitness and running.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Associates’ or Bachelor’s degree
- Must possess a valid First-Aid-CPR-AED certification
- Must possess a valid concussion training certification
- Degree in physical education or related area; any level of coaching certification or experience playing the sport preferred
Job Specifics:
- Length of season: Approximately 2 months (September – end of October).
- One-and-a-half-hour practices; two sessions per week, Tuesdays (3:30 – 5:00) and Thursdays (4:00-5:30). Coaches should be available Monday-Thursday from approximately 2:30 PM to 6:30 pm to attend races.
- Pay rate: Stipend between $2,000 – $2,500 based on experience.
