Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Middle School assistant principal and educational leader to join our talented and creative team! Among other qualities, our ideal candidate, the consummate “people person,” should be eager to establish a warm and supportive rapport with 5th-8th grade students, parents, and teachers.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Proactively participate with constructive, creative ideas with a collaborative and enthusiastic administrative team

  • Imbue a love of Torah, davening, learning in all students, across all academic levels

  • Explore opportunities to build school culture and middot, seeing initiatives from inception through facilitation; foster teacher collaboration

  • Act as an admissions liaison between Middle School and High School

  • Reinforce teacher-family communication, acting as a liaison between school and home, by email, phone, in-person

  • Teach two classes and lead advisory in 5th and 6th grades; lead a weekly tefillah class

  • Lead discipline for 5th and 6th grades

  • Create special schedules and logistics to echo and support instructional time

  • Chaperone student trips and oversee arrival/dismissal procedures

  • Partner with principal with facilitation of faculty meetings and PD needs for Middle School

  • Initiate and facilitate parent meetings about class placement/discipline issues

  • Support Director of Educational Programming with specific, nuanced effort for each unique program
