RESPONSIBILITIES
The ELL Teacher is responsible for the students’ English Language education. While there are broad guidelines for curriculum, given the ages, academic needs, and developmental levels of the students, teachers are given significant latitude to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of their particular students.
The duties of an ELL teacher include:
Planning and preparing lessons
Evaluating students’ progress, writing and sending out written progress reports for each student
Joining parent-teacher conferences twice a year in collaboration with Head Teachers and/or Learning Specialists, and meeting with parents on an as-needed basis
Supervising and interacting with students during lunch and recess; providing coverage as needed
Arriving on time to set up the classroom and staying after the school day to clean the classroom and work on planning for the next day
Working with the grade level teams to share ideas and resources to promote consistency within the program
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching children for whom English is not their first language

Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Kind and possesses a healthy sense of humor
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to take initiative and follow through on projects
Possesses good judgment
Advanced degree or equivalent experience
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range: $60,000-$90,000; commensurate with experience. *Base faculty salaries do not reflect additional compensation based on degree level and stipends.
