Barkai Yeshivah, an Orthodox Sephardic Torani school in Brooklyn, is seeking a dedicated professional to join our School Guidance Team. Position Overview

This position may be part-time or full-time and involves working with students in grades 1–5 within a supportive, collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Student Support Team to address students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Provide short-term individual counseling for students with social-emotional and executive functioning challenges
  • Facilitate small groups focused on skill-building and coping strategies
  • Conduct brief psychoeducational assessments and interpret findings to support admissions and academic planning
  • Partner with teachers, administrators, and outside providers to develop and implement targeted intervention plans
  • Develop and implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Provide crisis intervention and school-wide support as needed
  • Design and implement social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum and related programming
  • Lead parent and faculty workshops and trainings

Qualifications

  • PhD or PsyD in School Psychology, or LCSW preferred
  • Experience with teacher consultation, psychological evaluation, and behavioral planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
