Position Overview
We seek a strategic, hands-on Director of Finance & Operations to serve as senior financial and operational leader and key leadership team member. This role oversees financial management (accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, systems) and operations including legal, technology, and insurance. The Director partners with the CEO and Finance Committee to support data-informed decision-making and long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Develop annual budgets and multi-year models
• Present to leadership and Board
• Monitor performance and manage cash flow
Accounting & Compliance
• Oversee accounting, AP/AR, and nonprofit GAAP reporting
• Manage monthly close, audit, and 990
• Oversee grant financial management
• Maintain controls, policies, and fund tracking
Operations & Systems
• Oversee insurance, contracts, and system security
• Ensure efficient, compliant workflows
• Manage QBO, Bill.com, and Excel
Team & Strategic Leadership
• Supervise finance functions
• Align financial strategy with organizational goals
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA preferred)
• 10+ years financial leadership, preferably nonprofit
• Knowledge of nonprofit GAAP, audits, controls
• Experience with grants and funding streams
• Strong systems, communication, and organizational skills

Reporting
Reports to the CEO; works with the Finance Committee.
Compensation & Benefits
• $120,000–$125,000
• Health (80% employer-paid), dental (100%), vision
