The Dean of Students at the Elementary School is a pivotal leader within the Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing a positive, restorative behavior management system tailored for K-5 students. Reporting directly to the Principal, they collaborate closely with the Assistant Principal to set ambitious goals for school climate and uphold a schoolwide vision centered on positive, values-driven culture. The Dean also supports teachers in implementing strategies aligned with the school’s vision for student culture.

Responsibilities:

Develop, monitor, and refine behavior management systems.
Serve as the point person for all student behavior issues.
Maintain accurate student discipline records and analyze behavior data.
Support the effective execution of the school’s social emotional learning (SEL) curricula.
Coordinate behavior interventions and support for identified students.
Lead behavior-specific professional development for staff.
Regularly communicate with families, celebrating student progress and addressing challenges.
Demonstrate the school’s core values and standards for professionalism.
Required & Desired Skills:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 4 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably with students exhibiting significant behavioral needs.
Commitment to student success and development.
Exemplary classroom management skills and high standards for achievement.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Drive to set and achieve ambitious goals and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to lead by example and effectively support adults.
Skill in creating and maintaining systems that enhance organizational efficiency.

● This is a full‐time position. 7:45 am – 3:45 pm
● Starting date: August 14, 2024
