Scheck Hillel is seeking an experienced and collaborative school leader to become our next Upper School Director of Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language in the 2024-2025 school year. Scheck Hillel Community School is a nationally recognized college preparatory and Jewish community school located in North Miami Beach, Florida. Serving on the upper school’s leadership team, the Director of Judaic Studies 6-12 provides support with all educational and administrative aspects of US Judaic Studies and Hebrew Language. This position is crucial in shaping the department and the school. The position will also lead the Israel Gap Year Program, upper school tefilla, and advise and guide students throughout the search, application, and acceptance process for Israel gap year programs.
Qualified candidates will have advanced degree in Judaic Studies, Educational Administration or Curriculum Development, exemplary career history in Judaic Studies education at the middle/upper school level, 5 years of successful teaching experience, at least 2 years of administrative experience, creative thinking and ability to develop and implement dynamic, innovative and transformational Judaic studies programs and curriculum , strong leadership, management and organizational skills, strategic thinker and empathetic problem solver, fluent Hebrew and background and experience in Orthodox Jewish practice.
