Beit Midrash Coordinator and High School LK Teacher 2024-2025

Kohelet Yeshiva High School seeks a warm, dynamic, and inspirational Limudei Kodesh teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Our new Limudei Kodesh staff member will be part of a growth-oriented team of mechanchim and mechanchot committed to instilling both the skills for successful Torah learning and a desire for Torah living in each and every one of their students.

Beit Midrash Coordinator Responsibilities
The main role of this position is to infuse additional excitement, inspiration and vibrancy around high-level Torah learning into our school. Our new Beit Midrash Coordinator will have the ability to bring our school’s Torah learning to the next level by teaching the Beit Midrash Gemara track, working with students to write our annual Torah journal, and run Torah programs such as Mishmar and Hands-on-Halacha. This person should be excited to explore other initiatives in conjunction with the administration and implement them in school.

Teaching Responsibilities
Candidates should be excited about the possibility of inspiring students while exploring the richness of Torah. Our educators teach students a variety of skill levels, in moderately sized (average around 15), single gender Limudei Kodesh classes (Gemara, Tanach, or Halacha).

Additional Responsibilities
Additionally, our Limudei Kodesh staff members serve as a religious guidance counselor for a small number of students each year. Teachers are encouraged to participate in school-wide special events, shabbatonim, and programs outside of the regular school day.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in Judaic Studies and/or Semicha and a
demonstrated track record teaching Limudei Kodesh in a high school setting. The candidate should be able to understand and reach Modern Orthodox adolescents and should conduct themselves in a manner that models a sophisticated, integrated, and inspired Torah life. In addition, the candidate should possess a collaborative growth mindset and the aspiration to continuously improve in all aspects of their role.
