The Leffell School is a dynamic, cutting-edge K-12 independent Jewish school serving approximately 860 students on two campuses in Westchester County, 30 minutes north of New York City. We emphasize academic excellence, traditional Jewish learning and values, and a strong sense of community.

We are seeking a Hebrew Teacher for our High School, located in Hartsdale, NY, to fill in for a colleague who has been recalled to service in the IDF. This position is open immediately, and will run until our colleague who is currently serving in Israel completes his service and is able to return to New York.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative colleague who is capable of creating dynamic and active lessons that engage students in content, while teaching critical skills within the four streams of Hebrew language acquisition: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. He or she will have experience with multiple approaches to Hebrew instruction, and be able to teach students at different levels of fluency across all four grades of High School.

Qualifications: Experience teaching Hebrew in a formal classroom setting is strongly recommended. Experience teaching high school students and experiences with the Bishvil Halvrit curriculum will also be very helpful.
