The Leffell School is a dynamic, K-12 independent Jewish school serving approximately 860 students in Westchester County, 30 minutes north of New York City. We emphasize academic excellence, traditional Jewish learning and values, and a strong sense of community. As a result of retirements, the return to Israel of morim shlichim, and the growth of our program, we are seeking an outstanding candidate to fill our High School Talmud and Judaic Studies Teacher position for the coming school year at our Upper School, located in Hartsdale, New York:

Our High School is seeking a dynamic, warm, experienced Talmud and Judaic Studies teacher to join our High School Talmud Team, teaching grades 9 – 12.

The ideal candidate is collaborative and capable of creating active lessons that engage students in content, while teaching critical skills for text learning, all while engendering a love of Judaism in the process. He or she will have mastery in teaching Mishnah, Talmud, and Limudei Kodesh more broadly in a high school setting, paired with an evidence-based, backward design approach to teaching and learning. We seek to ground our students in rigorous study of Talmud, to engender a love of Talmud Torah, and to help our students develop the skills to support lifelong learning. This colleague will also participate as a leader in our Tefilah program and in the life of the school more broadly.

Qualifications: Experience teaching Talmud and Judaic Studies in a formal classroom setting is required. Experience teaching high school students specifically will be helpful. Background also in Tanakh is a bonus. Generous compensation commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $55,000-$80,000
