ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will have experience working with middle school aged children and their families and is committed to supporting students to build their skills, strategies and metacognitive skills. The candidate should be adaptable, collaborative, proactive, personable and warm.

WORK SCHEDULE
Working hours are generally 7:40 AM to 3:45 PM; additional hours may be required in the evenings. Teachers are expected to attend faculty meetings on Thursdays from 3:45 PM until 5:00 PM.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing direct support to students in the Learning Center, one on one and in small groups
Helping students develop self-advocacy skills and identify strategies that support their specific learning style
Advising a group of Middle School students
Carrying out any assigned administrative duties
Proactively participating and contributing to the growth of the Learning Center by providing new directions, advocating for academically vulnerable students, and participating in ongoing professional development
Supporting teachers and advisors in understanding how to help implement/honor accommodations/neuropsychological evaluations

QUALIFICATIONS
Shows an appreciation for the craft of teaching, along with a passion for and knowledge of 5-8th grade curriculum
Ability to provide students with strategies, support their metacognition and self-advocacy skills
Enjoys working with middle school aged children, working closely with colleagues and being involved in other aspects of school life
Has excellent interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Kind and possesses a healthy sense of humor
Supports the mission, vision, values and commitments as outlined on our “About” website page
Demonstrates commitment to equity and inclusion
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to take initiative and follow through on projects
Possesses good judgment
Advanced degree or equivalent experience

SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range: $60,000-$90,000; commensurate with experience. *Base faculty salaries do not reflect additional compensation based on degree level and stipends.
