Berman Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school that provides a comprehensive Jewish and secular education in an atmosphere of reverence, good citizenship, and love of the Jewish people and Israel. The ideal candidate will be part of a team of other special educators that works through the Educational Support Services Department, providing a variety of strategies and intervention to students with diverse learning needs, both in and out of the classroom setting. In addition to providing direct remedial support to students in both pull out and push in models, other responsibilities include designing individual education plans, case management, attending educational management team meetings and close collaboration with classroom teachers.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field
Demonstrated successful experience working with elementary-age students
Experience with students with learning disabilities in math and/or reading, ADHD, etc
Experience with ESOL, preferred
Experience with Orton Gilligham based reading methods, preferred
Teacher certification, preferred
