$50,000.00 To 80,000.00 Annually
The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving approximately 820 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City.
Our Lower School is seeking a Fifth Grade General Studies teacher with a minimum three years’ experience for the remaining of the 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will be a dynamic educator who excites and inspires students, communicates actively with parents and colleagues, is able to plan and lead small group instruction for students with proven ability to read above grade level and discuss books with depth and sophistication, can work with students with proven ability to grasp math and apply math concepts quickly, is familiar with project-based learning, and has a history of working collaboratively within a team.
Job responsibilities include teaching language arts, social studies, science, and math. In addition to working with students on content and skill areas, the team furthers our school’s mission by helping students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens. Master’s degree in education preferred. Experience with Responsive Classroom is a plus.
