Job Description: Middle School Math Teacher (Maternity Leave Coverage)
Coverage Dates: Approximately December 15, 2025 – March 6, 2026 (12 weeks)
Potential Option to Extend Through June 2026

Westchester Torah Academy (WTA), a vibrant and innovative Modern Orthodox Yeshiva Day School, is a nurturing, dual-language environment that integrates Torah values and academic excellence. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Math Teacher to provide maternity leave coverage for grades 5–8. The position begins December 15, 2025, and runs for 12 weeks, with the possibility of extending through the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities:

– Teach math courses across grades 5–8 both at grade-level and advanced math, including:
* Grade 5: Decimals, fractions, volume, ratios
* Grade 6: Percentages, Integers, expressions, equations, and inequalities, geometry
* Grade 7: Advanced applications of ratios and proportions, geometry concepts, and pre-algebra concepts
* Grade 8: Algebra
– Deliver engaging, clear, and differentiated instruction that meets a range of student needs and learning styles.
– Assess and monitor student progress through classwork, homework, and formal assessments.
– Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families.
– Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to maintain a supportive and rigorous academic environment.
– Uphold WTA’s mission and values, fostering a love of learning in a warm and respectful classroom culture.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
– Prior teaching experience in middle school mathematics required.
– Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive, structured learning environment.
– Flexibility, professionalism, and strong communication skills.
– Experience differentiating instruction for varying levels of learners.
