Magen David Yeshivah Early Childhood Center, a Jewish Preschool located in Brooklyn, is offering highly competitive salaries for experienced Early Childhood Hebrew Speaking Teacher. Our teachers participate in school-wide Professional Development programs as well as courses and conferences of individual interest.
Responsibilities:
- In a classroom environment, Teachers will plan and supervise a warm, nurturing developmentally appropriate environment for the development of the whole child while integrating a program of both Limudei Hol and Limudei Kodesh under Magen David Yeshivah’s high level of care and educational standards.
- Head Teacher will design and maintain a classroom environment that facilitates active, hands-on learning, group management, self-expression and choice, and inclusion of all children, parents, volunteers and staff.
- Teach within a project-based program involving teaching through engaging topics that allow the integration of meaningful learning in all content areas while also supporting development across multiple domains.
- Judaic studies are integrated and reinforced throughout the day.
- Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress
- Evaluate each student’s growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught
- Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students
- Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA and student clubs.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Hebrew language is a must
- Head teacher should have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree with intention to complete a Master’s degree.
- Hold certification and/or license in Early Childhood Education.
- Preference will be given to those with teaching experience.
- Knowledge of the Jewish Holidays
- Experience in emergent curriculum is a plus
- A background in constructivist- play based settings is a plus
