Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Education General Studies Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who have language-based learning disabilities, possess strong classroom management skills, and demonstrate a commitment to tailoring instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group instruction in general studies (Math, Science, Social Studies, and English Language Arts) for students with language-based learning disabilities.
Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student, ensuring that their academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
Collaborate with other special education teachers, therapists, and staff to create a holistic approach to each student’s education.
Use research-based teaching strategies and accommodations to support students’ learning.
Regularly assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment that promotes student engagement, self-confidence, and growth.
Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any necessary adjustments to the educational plan.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education (Master’s degree preferred).
Certification in Special Education
In-depth knowledge of language processing challenges, differentiated instruction, and various special education strategies.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
