Manhattan Day School, a storied Modern Orthodox day school on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Hebrew Language to lead our immersive Hebrew program for students from Toddler through 8th Grade.

The ideal candidate is a passionate educator and skilled leader who brings deep expertise in Hebrew language instruction and a forward-thinking vision for immersive, meaningful Hebrew learning that connects students to the language and spirit of Am Yisrael.

Responsibilities include:
Overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Hebrew immersive curriculum across all grades
Guiding and supporting faculty in creating engaging, Hebrew-rich classroom environments where students think, speak, and learn in Hebrew
Collaborating with Judaic Studies teachers to ensure Hebrew language is integrated throughout Jewish learning and life at MDS
Recruiting, onboarding, and supervising Shlichim and Bnot Sherut, supporting their transition and success within the immersive model
Leading professional development and cultivating a culture of linguistic and instructional excellence
Partnering with school leadership to advance Hebrew as a living bridge to Israel, Zionism, and Jewish identity

Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Education or a related field
Minimum of five years of experience in both teaching and educational leadership
Demonstrated success in implementing immersive, data-informed language programs
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and collaborate effectively

Salary commensurate with experience: $85,000–$110,000
