Elementary School Reading Specialist

The North Shore Hebrew Academy (NSHA) is a co-educational Modern Orthodox Yeshiva that inspires students to become passionate learners, critical thinkers, problem solvers and dedicated community members.
We are seeking a caring, experienced and dynamic teacher to join our team as a reading specialist. An ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of reading interventions such as Fundations, Wilson, LLI, and/or PAF and should be skilled at assessing students using the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System. Teachers are responsible for planning lessons, delivering differentiated instruction, assessing student learning, helping students to develop social and emotional competencies, communicating with parents, and collaborating with their colleagues. An ideal candidate will possess a love of teaching children who are not yet meeting their potential and a track record of helping middle school students make academic progress.
Ideal Candidates will possess the following qualifications:
*MA degree in education, literacy, or reading
*A minimum of five years teaching, in an elementary school or middle school setting
*Experience with Wilson, LLI and using the Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessment System
*A teaching philosophy that focuses on growth in academic, social and emotional domains
*A collaborative, teamwork-oriented approach
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary: $60,000-$75,000
