Position Overview:
Mazel seeks a Director of Development to lead all aspects of fundraising and donor engagement. Reporting to the Executive Director, this senior role collaborates with the Head of School, leadership team, and Board to build and execute a comprehensive development strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage long- and short-term fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual campaigns, capital projects, and alumni giving.
Oversee daily development operations, donor communications, acknowledgments, and prospect research.
Coordinate development-related messaging across social media, publications, grant submissions, and stewardship materials.
Lead cultivation efforts with parents, alumni, board members, and community stakeholders.
Establish and manage capital and fundraising committees.
Monitor progress and provide regular development reports and insights.
Oversee the donor database and ensure accurate tracking, stewardship, and donor retention.
Qualifications:
Proven track record in major gifts, campaigns, and donor engagement.
7–10+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, preferably in Jewish or independent schools.
Strategic thinker with excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Strong writing ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management platforms.
Knowledge of fundraising best practices and digital tools.
Ability to manage volunteers, multitask, and maintain discretion and professionalism.
