Manhattan Day School, a leading Modern Orthodox day school on the Upper West Side, seeks an experienced and visionary leader to direct and advance our robust neurodiverse learning programs.
The Director of Neurodiverse Learning will oversee a range of specialized programs that support students with language-based learning disabilities, ASD, and other behavioral or learning needs, as well as guide our Learning Center for students in the mainstream classroom. The ideal candidate will bring a clear vision for expanding and enhancing these programs—strengthening current supports while developing innovative approaches to meet the evolving needs of all learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of special educators, therapists, and support staff.
Oversee individualized learning plans and ensure effective collaboration among faculty, parents, and external providers.
Partner with the Department of Education and other agencies as needed.
Provide professional development for general and special education teachers on best practices for inclusive and differentiated instruction.
Collaborate with school leadership to refine and implement a long-term strategic vision for neurodiverse education across all grade levels.
Maintain the highest standards of educational excellence and Torah values within a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of experience in special education, including leadership roles
Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field
Proven expertise in instructional strategies for neurodiverse learners
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to innovate and lead programmatic growth
Commitment to the mission and values of Modern Orthodox Jewish education

Salary commensurate with experience: $100,000–$135,000
