WORK SCHEDULE
Working hours are generally 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM; occasional hours may be required in the evenings. Teachers are expected to attend faculty meetings on Thursdays from 3:45 PM until 5:00 PM.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Elementary Associate Teachers are responsible for working with the Head Teacher in overseeing the experiences of students in their classroom. While there are broad guidelines for curriculum, given the ages and developmental levels of the students, teachers are given latitude to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of their particular students.

The duties of an Associate Teacher include the following:

Supporting the Head Teacher in managing all aspects of classroom life, including curriculum planning, weekly newsletters, report writing and parent conferences.
Supervising and interacting with students during outdoor and indoor play times.
Arriving on time to set up the classroom and staying after the school day to clean the classroom and work on planning for the next day.
Working with the rest of the grade level team to share ideas and resources to promote consistency within the program.
Participating in all aspects of school life, including attending team and staff meetings and community events.

Has experience and enjoys working with elementary aged children

Shows an appreciation for the craft of teaching
Has excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates commitment to equity and inclusion
Demonstrates flexibility and ability to take initiative and follow through on projects
Possesses good judgment

SALARY & BENEFITS
*Salary range: $45,000-$51,000; Salary offers are based on our salary scale steps, which are based on years of experience, and are non-negotiable due to pay equity practices. *Base faculty salaries do not reflect additional compensation based on degree level and stipends.
