POSITION OVERVIEW
The Mathematics Teacher is a full-time teacher and member of the Mathematics Department, reporting to the Division Head and Instructional Leader. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment where value is placed on the skills and passions of the discipline within a larger context of school mission, core values, and educational philosophy. Primary responsibilities include teaching 5 mathematics classes per year (12.5 classroom hours per week), serving as a Student Advisor, and collaborating on school-wide programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide differentiation and intervention when necessary and appropriate.
Monitor progress of each student for mastery of course standards.
Provide consistent high quality feedback to students that is consistent with articulated course standards.
Design high quality, student-centered lessons that are well-sequenced in terms of content and developmental appropriateness.
Establish a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Engage with students outside of the classroom through office hours, extracurricular activities, clubs and school-wide programming.
Pursue ongoing professional development.
