Director of Student Activities
Job Description

Think back to your high school days. What are the memories that stand out for you? If you’re like our students, you’re remembering Shabbatons, Chagigot, and the other experiences that were designed to bring joyful Yiddishkeit to life.
And now you have the opportunity to create lifelong memories for the next generation of students as the Director of Student Activities at Kohelet Yeshiva High School. Let’s dream together about the experiences you can curate that will excite our students about Hashem, Torah, and Israel.
Kohelet is a dual-curriculum yeshiva high school where the culture empowers student voice, engagement, and growth. Our students divide their time between analytic, text-based Limudei Kodesh and rigorous, college-preparatory General Studies. But that’s only part of the experience. Our robust student activities programs are not just the spice, but a critical ingredient of school life. They invite our students to develop as people and Jews and to cultivate their passions, strengths, and interests. The Director of Student Activities will make our school day, week, month, and year amazing by amplifying what we currently do and innovating to find new ways to develop excitement and passion while creating lifelong memories.
This role may be right for you if…
You are an educator who is animated by:
Passion for working with kids and helping them grow
Desire to express your creativity towards a meaningful Jewish goal
Forming meaningful relationships with teens
A belief that experiential education is as important as formal classroom instruction
People probably describe you as:
Highly organized and efficient (you’ve got systems for things)
A Ruach spreader (you’re contagious)
An engaging classroom teacher
A clear communicator
A great team player
Coachable (you’re open to other ideas and feedback and you know how to get it)
Collaborative
Planful but flexible
Musically attuned (maybe you like to sing or play an instrument, but you definitely understand how to use music to create a vibe)
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. We know that statement is somewhat meaningless because it doesn’t have dollars attached, but we can tell you that you’ll be able to live a comfortable and honorable life, especially if you take advantage of our fringe benefits which include 50% tuition remission for all your kids in Kindergarten – 12th grade (!), medical, dental, retirement, and more.
