Barkai Yeshivah is a traditional, Sephardic elementary school in Brooklyn, NY. Barkai’s mission is to cultivate the unique potential of each ben and bat Torah, based on the belief that all elements of the world should be recognized through the framework of Torah. Our goal is to provide a warm, child-centered environment in which students can develop into lifelong learners and pursuers of knowledge who will become the leaders of the next generation.
Our teachers work collaboratively to facilitate whole-class and small-group instruction aimed at meeting the educational, social, and emotional needs of each student. Our general studies program develops high-level skills and a depth of knowledge that enables our students to engage in the world as informed, proficient, and discerning citizens. Our Hebrew immersion program helps to further develop our communities’ strong ties to Eres Yisrael. Our students emerge with a strong sense of identity, refined character and compassion to engage in life as dedicated members of Klal Yisrael.
Barkai Yeshivah is seeking a part-time General Studies teacher for Lower School, Grades 1–2. Responsibilities include teaching English Language Arts and other core subjects in a warm, engaging classroom environment. Candidates should have a degree in education or a related field and experience working with young children. Strong communication skills and a passion for early childhood education are essential.
