Abraham Joshua Heschel School is seeking a full-time science teacher in the middle school for the 2026-27 school year.

The science program is laboratory-based, involving multiple investigations and experiments in life and physical sciences. We are looking for a creative team-oriented individual who wants to inspire students in the sciences, while engaging and challenging students intellectually.

Responsibilities include:
Supervising middle and high school students across two library spaces.
Covering, repairing, and shelving books and cataloging new books
Helping to weed outdated materials
Circulating books using OPALS software

The ideal candidate will
Demonstrate a love of books and reading
Enjoy working with young people in small group and one-on-one settings
Support student research, by guiding students in using research databases and answering drop-in reference questions
Help create displays, bulletin boards, and other readers advisory
Knowledge of Hebrew and/or Judaica topics preferred
This can be an ideal position for someone pursuing their MLS or interested in gaining experience in school librarianship.

The full-time equivalent salary range is $60,000 – $95,000, depending on years of experience.
