Responsibilities:
Cultivate a warm and caring classroom environment with excellent development of classroom routines, structures and expectations
Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents and administration
Develop and lead curricular units and learning experiences in collaboration with the team
Monitor student progress to support differentiated instruction in collaboration with the team
Qualifications:
Evidence strong ability to connect with students and develop an atmosphere of empathy, respect and belonging
Exhibit a developmental approach to children’s socialization, emotional well-being and academic progress
Display knowledge of best practices for teaching mathematics, language arts, and science. Training and/or experience with Fundations, Just Words, The Writing Revolution, Common Core Mathematics a plus
Experience differentiating instruction in a heterogeneous classroom
Use educational technology to maximize instruction
Have a creative, open-minded and flexible approach to instruction
