Full-Time Music Teacher (Grades 2–12)
Berman Hebrew Academy is seeking a passionate, skilled, and dynamic Full-Time Music Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape and grow a comprehensive music program across elementary, middle, and upper school divisions in a thriving Jewish day school.
Position Overview:
The Full-Time Music Teacher will provide music instruction to students in grades 2 through 12, fostering musical literacy, appreciation, creativity, and engagement. The role includes classroom instruction, elective offerings, and extracurricular enrichment, with opportunities to rotate programming and develop innovative musical experiences for students.
Primary Responsibilities:
Elementary School (Grades 2–5)
Teach general music classes focused on music appreciation, basic theory, rhythm, melody, and listening skills
Design engaging, age-appropriate lessons that encourage active participation
Participate in a rotating schedule, with flexibility to introduce specialized or thematic units
Lead a once-a-month extended or special music experience, such as workshops, performances, or interdisciplinary programs
Middle School:
Teach a music elective that may include music appreciation, basic theory, composition, history, and performance-based learning
Encourage student choice, creativity, and exploration of different musical styles and traditions
Upper School:
Lead an upper school music elective and club, providing opportunities for performance, collaboration, and student-led musical initiatives
Support students with varied musical interests and skill levels
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
Bilingual in Hebrew and English and bicultural Jewish-Israeli
3+ years teaching experience with multiple grade levels
Strong knowledge of music arrangement and foundational music theory
Employment Details:
Start Date: August 2026
Salary is $55,000-$65,000 commensurate with experience
