Farber Hebrew Day School has an opening beginning with the August 2024/2025 school year for a Resource Room Teacher to work with elementary, middle and high school students in all Judaic subjects to support their academic as well as social/emotional success.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Masters in Special Education preferred)
● 3+ years’ experience working in a school setting
● Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
● Proven capability of instructing students and managing their behavior
● Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to read, understand and translate Judaic texts
● Ability to assist developing accommodations with Judaic curriculum
● Ability to read, understand and translate modern Hebrew
Responsibilities and Duties:
*Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and professionals to develop individual educational plans designed to promote students’ educational and social development
*Collaborate with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues
*Develop and adapt conventional teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students concentrating on Judaic subjects
*Teach either individuals or small groups of students within or outside the classroomSupport classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans
*Communicate with parents regarding student progress, expectations, and achievements along with developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcement of classroom goals in the home environment
*Assess student progress toward objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and administration
*Prepare a variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements
*Any other duties assigned by the Head of School, Educational Support Services Director or designee
