Jewish teens are seeking answers to the why behind our traditions, in addition to the what and how. They yearn for answers to questions like: Why does Judaism matter? How does it connect to my identity? My purpose? My relationships? Do my actions really make a difference? What is God? What is this thing called Mashiach?
The Big Questions in Jewish Spirituality Intensive will support teachers in bringing spiritual education to the classroom and addressing the spiritual needs of their students by introducing a framework for spiritual education, exploring specific spiritual education pedagogies, and workshopping the implementation of Big Questions in Jewish Spirituality, The Lookstein Center’s free Jewish Spirituality curriculum.
The program runs early in the academic year, providing support for teachers teaching the curriculum for the first time (exact dates below).
Cost: Tuition is covered through a generous grant from SHARE.
